ICI is open year-round. We only close for national and regional holidays. New groups are put together every Monday.

We offer group courses, individual courses, and preparatory courses to take the CELPE-Bras. We also offer pronunciation workshops and special classes on Brazilian culture.

Each session lasts 50 minutes. The group classes are arranged in 4 sessions, from Monday to Friday. Individual courses can be arranged for 2 (two), 4 (four) or 6 (six) sessions per day. In addition, we also offer a package of “light” courses that offer greater scheduling flexibility – the student can choose, depending on course availability, which days and times they would like to take classes.

Group Courses

Group courses: maximum of 8 students, minimum of 3, 20 sessions per week, from Monday to Friday.

Combined (COMBO) Courses

This is a good option for those who wish to spend time with other students in the group classes, but who also want to have individual classes, in order to be able to clear up individual questions, or get more conversational and phonetic practice.

There are two types of combo courses:

COMBO 1 – 4 sessions per day, from Monday to Friday, in group in the morning + 1 individual session in the afternoon.

COMBO 2 – 4 sessions per day, from Monday to Friday, in group in the morning + 2 individual sessions in the afternoon.

Individual Classes

Individual classes are a good option for those who prefer to learn at their own pace, or who need to learn more quickly, or even for those who want to learn specific vocabulary, such as Portuguese for Business.

Classroom material can be discussed with the instructor, allowing the student the opportunity to choose topics that interest them, or to adapt instruction so that it is more efficient and pleasant for the student.

The following options are available: “Light” individual courses – two daily sessions, from Monday to Friday, normally in the afternoon between 1:30 pm and 5:00 pm (morning classes are subject to classroom and instructor availability) Regular individual courses – four daily sessions, from Monday to Friday, from 8:50 am to 12:30 pm, or from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Intensive individual courses – six daily sessions from Monday to Friday.

Four sessions from 9:00 am to 12:40 pm, and then two afternoon sessions from 1:30 pm to 3:10 pm. Classes in the evening or on Saturdays

Evening or Saturday classes can be individual or group classes, if registered together. These courses are made-to-measure for those who want to learn Portuguese on a different schedule due to working or studying during the day.

The package of evening classes includes 10 sessions of individual lessons, 2 sessions for each meeting, and the student can choose on which days of the week (from Monday to Friday) they would like to take classes.
